Skyways Baskets

Meet David Aniah

David is from the Upper West Region of Ghana and suffered from polio as a child. Despite his disability, he taught himself how to weave traditional baskets and founded Skyways in 2013 to help reduce unemployment among people with disabilities through straw basket weaving. 

David currently has over 188 basket weavers who are people with disabilities as well as widows and relatives of people with disabilities. He now has five weaving centers built exclusively for producing and storing baskets made from elephant grass and recycled plastic materials.
